Pregnant and Losing my please!!

I am currently pregnant with my fourth child who is due in November. I have fairly good pregnancies but always suffered from post-partum afterwards. After my first pregnancy it hit me hard almost a year after the birth of my daughter, I had to be medicated. After my boys I felt the blues instantly but didn't need medication. Lately I've been feeling very low and depressed. I know I should talk to my doctor, but I've seen so many stories about children born with birth defects due to anti-depressants. Has anyone else ever experienced depression during a pregnancy? This is all new to me and for most people a very sensitive subject. I would appreciate anything you have to offer.

I am expecting my second child, who is due in December. My first was not a planned baby, but this one was planned. You would think that i would have been depressed with the first one because I was only 17, my parents were going to kill me, and I had no clue as to how to raise a baby. This time around I have experience, I am married and out on my own, and I have been trying to conceive. I never felt depressed with my first not during pregnancy or after. But with this baby, I have been so depressed, exhausted, and ready to pull out all my hair. The way I am trying to deal with my depression is taking time for myself, finding new things that I can enjoy doing, and talking it out with my husband and my mother.

I have two children, with my first pregnancy everything was great! This second time around, my son is two months, I cried constantly, felt exhausted, and seriously depressed. After he was born, and even still now, I cry at the drop of a hat and easily stressed. It comes and goes. I was not prescribed antidepressants, but if you need them do not be ashamed to take them. It is hard on your little ones, inside and out, for you to feel this way. I believe that if the doctor feels you need them then take em!

I have not taken antidepressants whilst pregnant but what I do know is that you are around 5 months pregnant and your baby is fully grown. All you are doing now is maturing lungs and gaining weight for baby. If you need antidepressants then take them. It is better to get on top of these things early so you have the best chance to bond with your baby.
