[deleted account] ( 14 moms have responded )

So I know we are allowed to give them yogurt and some dairy..cheese etc....But I have read to give them "whole milk" products....and I can't find any...all the yogurt is made with "skim milk" any suggestions...comments...I would like to start giving her this stuff...I seem to have stuck to the easy stuff like squash and potatoes for a month...time to expand our horizons!!
Thanks Ladies!!

Gerber also makes yogurt bites with that have the live enzymes. My son LOVES them. They do say for Toddlers, but they melt pretty quickly and he hasn't had any issues with them.

my daughter didn't like the yobaby. my sons and i like yoplay, so when we eat some, i let her have a little. she loves the yogurt bites, but they are very expensive where we live.

We use Probiotics in the bottle once daily which is basically why you would want to give them yogurt to begin with. The only reason they say "whole milk" is so as to not short change your baby on their needed fat and calories but if he's still on formula that "whole milk" rule doesn't apply. We've given Savannah the yogurt based juices and the YoBaby--by Stonyfield FArms.

Haven't tried yogurt yet, but when we do (soon) I'll try the plain whole milk yogurt from Trader Joe's. I've also heard that lots of Moms use YoBaby or Stoneyfield Farms yogurt. Try to get the most fat you can for your little one when it comes to dairy.

My little one is 8 months, and loves yogurt !

Milk, 2% and homo give him an unbelivable sore belly and massive gas.

I was reading in a baby journal that if you feed ur baby iron fortified food to ease back on the diary and too much iron will upset baby's tummy.

I feed my baby YoBaby also. It is made with whole milk, however I did talk to my Dr. about this once and she told me that any type of yogurt is fine to feed your baby, it is just always better to feed him/her the yogurt with the most fat if it is an every day food.

The first time i gave my son yogurt it was the YoBaby ones, but are pretty hard to find. So i have now switched him over to plain Astro Balkan Style yogurt...which has 6% fat! he loves it!!!

Quoting Tammy:

When my daughter was young the best yogurt I found for her was Lil Ones which are made by Dairyland. They are specifically made for babies and contain whole milk. They were hard to find so I'm not sure if you'll be able to find them in your area, although I know they are still around because I was looking at them the other day for my son. I'm just waiting to get them as I'm going to start him on meats tomorrow.....hopefully he won't be as picky about meats as he has been with everything else. :)

Good luck with the meats...Im having aheck of a time with that!!

Hi Eva - I give my daughter full fat organic yogourt that I buy either at the local healthfood or produce store. I buy the plain to avoid the sugar and just add a bit of fruit and she loves it. I am not sure if the brands I buy are available in your area but they are Olympic (3.5% MF) and Jerseyland (5% MF).
