Hey moms I know all of us are planning our little ones first birthdays. We've discussed presents, and themes, and whether or not we're having big parties- but I would like to know if anyone has game ideas suitable for 1-5 year olds. We have a pin the tail on the donkey (Transformers' style), and i was thinking about writing *Winner* on the bottom of someone's plate. and perhaps giving a prize to whoever has the closest birthday to the birthday boy. But I'd like your ideas :D

hey Elizabeth what about bowling? instead of using the plastic rolling pins why don't you replace that with baby bottles fill it with water or rice and the winner can win a prize. I am not having a party for my son instead we are having a family only birthday good luck.

I was thinking of putting cerrios in a glass and who ever is the closest to how many will win a price. We have a pin the tail on the clown. My son is having a sport theme so I have a soccer net for the older kids,. There is not going to be alot of little kids so we also got a jump house for the kids.

I have a variety of ages coming to my sons party, we are going to have a guessing game. I am putting toddler snacks in a bottle and whoever gets the closet gets a prize then the second closet and so on. I am also doing a relay game, you have to move some toys from one bin to another while on your knees (because my son can walk, if yours is still crawling you can have them crawl) and whoever is the fastest gets a prize then the second fastest and so on. If I have extra prizes left over I am going to go by who has the next birthday than so on.

Yes i am doing gift bags, the party package we bought came with them. They come with a sticker sheet, a bracelet, and a blowout. I also bought prizes for the games.

I am in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are having our daughter's first bday on May 8, so we are really hoping the weather cooperates and is lovely. Anyway, point being that if we can be outside I thought about filling a small pool with water and plastic ducks, give the kids fish nets from a dollar store and they can go duck fishing...kind of like fair games. I also bought water balloons, pin the tail, tack paper to the fence or a table and let kids create their own picture. You could always have a crawling or walking contest or even some sort of age appropriate obstacle course. How about a dance contest or musical chairs. Obviously you will need to have a mix of activities to keep all happy. Have fun. BTW are you doing gift bags?
