Fruits and Veggies Problem

My 14 month old for some reason doesn't even want to try fruits or veggies. she eats dried fruit from thebaby aisle no problem and eats anything meat/fish/cheese. She likes potatoes. But anything fresh or cooked veggie or fruit and placed in front of her she just tosses on the floor most of the time. Also she doesn't like trying new things like toddler granola bars or breakfast bars. She just pitches those at first glance. Any tips??

fortunately my kids LOVE their food and practically all food (including brussel sprouts, olives, curries, etc) and they are 5 (girl) and 14 months (boy).

I put my success down to all of us sitting down and eating together ALWAYS ~ and I notice how my son sits and watches my daughter enjoy her food.

I also started off (when first going onto solids) feeding them off my plate, then when I fed from theirs, I would 'steal' their food and make a game of it.

+ found the variety in serving it helped - ie different shapes (long, cubed, rounds, etc) , textures lightly steamed, soggy, mashed, etc) helped a lot too.

I never give up when they refuse it, I just 'hide' it under/behind something they are loving off the plate, and then make a game of eating like aeroplanes etc

oh and even now when my daughter plays up at the table and doesnt want her food, DH and I both go "yay more yumy food for us!" and she soon starts eating!

try hiding them in her meals. when cauliflower is cooked really soft you can mix it with her mash, or if she will eat bolognese mash up a bit of carrot into it. sometimes when they dont see the veg going in they eat it

My baby is the opposite she loves fruits and veggies and was pushimg away meat but then i dipped it in ketchup and now she eill eat it.

Check out http://www.thesneakychef.com. My daughter is not a great veggie eater, so I hide vegetable purees in practically everything. I still offer her real vegetables, but then I don't have to make a big deal about it if she only eats half of a green bean.

Will she eat fruits/vegetables if they are in a puree form. Sometimes my daughter thinks she's getting some kind of dessert if I offer her pureed fruit from the jar (when we're out). She hardly touches a real pear, but can eat a whole jar when they are pureed. So you might try going back to those for a little bit too.

try things like bubble and squeak patties. Potato patties with peas beans carrots etc in them.you can also get stick shaped ones that are fun for little ones to hold. Im lucky though cause my son loves veges anyway - think its cause i started him on only veges first. but good luck - you could try vege soup too.

My three year old refuses to eat veggies so i have to hide them, she eats soup so i make my own and put a ton of veggies in then blitz it so she doesnt know they are there, you could try doing them with a cheese sauce or mashing them up with mash potatoes, hope that helps! xxx

Keirnan used to do veggies no problem, but he has hit a recent spell where he doesn't want anything to do with them! Fruits he would eat all day if I let him, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get him is veggies! (And of course, I don't eat them so that makes it harder since I don't know the 'tricks!'

does she drink juice, mine loves juice made wih fruits and veggies. i mix it half and half with water. She does like fruits and veggies also she eat alot of it, but for those who dont it might work
