pain in my lower abdomen

Hey all! Congrats to those of you that are holding your miracles and good luck to those of us who are still waiting. I am 38 weeks prego this week. I have been having contractions and we (doctors) included thought I was going to go into full labor last Thursday. I am 3.5 cm and 80% effaced. My newest "issue" is that I can hardly move. I am so sore. I can't sit, stand, walk, roll over, or even move my legs without pain ripping across my lower abs. Is this normal? It did not happen with my first son (who was induced at 40 weeks). This is day three of this kind of pain and I honestly don't know how much more of it I can stand. Help if you can!

This is my 2nd and I have 8 days to go and am having the same kind of pains. My doctor told me that with each additional pregnancy that your pelvic bones begin to soften sooner than the one before there for you have more pain in your pelvic area. I am just hoping that some of the pain is the engagment of the head!!! He is larger than my first and I was induced late with him and my doctor this time says they won't induce until he is engaged in the birth canal so I'm hoping all that pain is doing something good for me!! Good luck!!!

Thanks for the info. It is good to know I am not the only one who feels like their insides are screaming to get out. I go tomorrow to the doctor and hopefully I will be at 4cm. I have been a 3 for a week, and a 2 for a week before that. I am anxious (probably more so than I was with my first) The pain is just something unexpected. The pillow idea is a good one, and I do have body pillows that I sleep with, but you are right about the rolling over (it is torture). At least there is an end in sight!

I had a lot of that the two weeks before I went into labor. I told my husband that I felt that someone had kicked me in the groin it hurt so bad. Just rolling over in bed was a chore. My doc told me it was just pressure on the pelvic floor causing it but boy am I sore after he was born too...

I experience that kind of pain after I have been on my feet fr a while. I cooked dinner last night and I could hardly get up once I sat down. I was walking to the bathroom granny style hunched over. LOL. :) AWwww the joys of being preggo. Soon it will all be over. If I lay down when I get those pains I feel better. But even the slightest move or roll over send the pains all over again. It is my 3rd and I think the more babies you have the more your body remembers what it is suppose to do. I am due the 22nd and I was not dilated at all 2 weeks ago, I go tomorrow so wish me luck that I have progressed. Just try and relax, I know easier said than done, but try. prop pillows under your belly on the couch or lay in bed. I have a 2 yr old and I know that when he naps and goes to bed I do too. Just to make it through my day.
