my baby girl was 7.03lbs at birth and now shes almost 11lbs, she is BF only. (she was born May 5th) I was also told that they only eat what they need, and that BF babies dont usually over eat.

I agree with the first person. It all depends on your baby and what the pedia says. My son is formula fed but a friend strictly breastfeeds and her baby has grown almost 2 1/2lbs in 1 month. Our pedia says that's normal for her and ok. Don't worry...you want your baby to grow and if he is a little "butterball" for now he will lose it all when he starts walking (or should I say running) :)

I was told by my midwife that if a baby is strictly breast feed they can't get gain too much because they will only eat what they need ( I ask my midwife because my baby gained two pounds in two months) I hope this helps

Normal (whatever that is) is 4-7 ounces a week, but it depends on your child's size at birth and if you and your husband are smaller or bigger people. If your baby is following 'his curve', then I wouldn't worry about it!
