How much sneezing is ok?

My son sneezes a lot...probably 10x/day. I have read that it's normal for newborns to sneeze but 4 months old isn't really a newborn and how much is too much? They are dry sneezes and he gets dry boogies too. He also sounds like he has snot in the back of his nasal passage (like when it's almost in your throat) but nothing had ever come out so I don't know if it's just some drool back there. He coughs on occasion too. He does not have a fever. I'm thinking he might have allergies like my dad did when he was a baby but I don't want to over react to something that could be perfectly normal....any suggestions?

That sounds exactly like my daughter, I was going to bring her to the doctors today but she was fine last night and this morning then it started again this evening. By the looks of all the posts so far, definitely looks like allergies. What are the doctors giving for allergies or do they give anything?

My son has the same/almost 4 mo too. His is allergies b/c we've all had allergy issues. I run a vaporizer and try to keep him propped up. He's not had fever so he's OK. Good luck.

Tiffanie my son just turned 14 weeks on Saturday and he is exactly the same. Sneezes a fair bit, he seems constantly snotty and blocked in the nose (more so in the mornings) and has the odd cough as well. I haven't really thought much about it as he seems happy etc, my maternial health nurse doesnt seemed worried about it either.

It sounds like the he may have allergies but maybe you should talk to his pediatrician to make sure!

Update 2017:
7 years on and my daughter has had tests and has dust allergies / hay fever.
She takes half a zirtek most days and keeps everything under control!
