We use hydocortisone cream 2% on my sons head, the 1% didn't work after awhile. Recently, my doctor suggested using head and shoulders or selsum blue but I haven't tried those.

OMG I thought I was the only one with this problem! My son born 24th May scratched his head severely until he was about 5 months old! Now hes 6 months! He would scratch it until it bled! We tried wrapping him and everything! My mum bought us a "Safety Sleep" (wraps around the mattress and around your baby to stop them from moving) BUT we wrapped him in a light sheet, nice and tight and then put the safety sleep over his arms aswell and he didnt get out of that! ALSO I developed eczema on my hands afterbirth so doc gave me HYDROCORTISONE CREAM 1%, but after nothing working on my sons head we put some of that on it every night after his bath and before bed and it makes a difference in one night! If you keep putting that on consistently until his head clears up he will scratch his head less and less! My son doesnt scratch his head anymore and his head is so cleared up! Such a relief after 5months of stress! Hope this helps!

My son's doc said to use head and shoulders on the seborrheic dermatitis on his scalp once a week to help clear up the rash and help the itching. I haven't tried it yet because it has never gotten too bad but I guess you could try that. Just be super careful about getting it in the eyes.

My little one was doing that too about that age. She is now 5 and a half months and has not done is since she hit the 5 month old mark. Hopefully he will stop too. I hear ya about the bleeding thing, she use to take big gouges out of her scalp, didnt seem to bother her though!

I like to use baby eczema cream anytime mine has an itch. It is very thick and creamy and seems to stop the itch immediately. I also put long socks on my baby's hands that went all the way up her arms making it much harder for her to get out of them.

One of the babys in my mothers group constantly scratches so that mother wrapped him in the angel wrap and it is hard for them to get their hands our of it so they cant stratch as easy. I wrap my son like that too but only because he seems to settle much better, he cant still get his hands to his mouth but he cant scratch as the wrap has his hands covered. Perhaps try that.
