Hello my 8 year old is having an extremely hard time making friends. I am thinking due to the fact that he has ADHD, it affects his social skills. He has z hard time socializing and his classmates distance themselves during to the fact that he also has tantrums. He doesn't even have anyone to play with at school. My husband feels that he shouldn't care about having friends. My husband and his mother feel that buying him a bunch of video games will make things better. He was going to therapy, but I was the only one on board. I don't know what to do!

Children with ADHD have a much harder time with the social skills and to top it off school is awkward for young ones. My son, 6, has a hard time with his social skills and hurts his peers' feelings, because of his brutal honesty. I think the therapy is good for them and I'm sure if there are any groups in your area you could get him in and that would help him in his confidence and learning social skills. Good luck for the both of you!

I think I can feel what your saying because i have an 6yr old who dosent seem to get a long with others at times or has no friends nor the children dont want to play with him at times. I think what helps is he has a lot of cousins that he plays with. I dont know wht to say about that let me know what you figure out.
