Hello i just wanted to take the time and introduce myself. My name is maria and my son Vincent (age 5) went GF in July of 08. He does not have a positive result for CD but has almost all the symptoms of CD. Vincent did not have a problem really with weight or height, always on the charts for "norm", but after going GF he went in for a weight check and a quick chat with his doctor in 7 months gained 6lbs and 1/2 inch and the comment his doctor made was wow he has always been healthy but he really looks healthy and seems a lot more active. Now we have found out that just a little gluten or cross contamination messes up his system. My husband and i are so glad we looked into this further and took it out of his diet.

Hi kristy! My daughter just turned 2 and was diagnosed 8 months ago now. It sure is a lifestyle change when you find out. Is there anything I can help you with. I found it challenging when we first found out but now it seems like 2nd nature. Good luck with the gf diet. Hopefully you see a huge improvment in your little one right away. Our daught was about 14 months when I started to notice starnge things. She was not active at all happy to just sit and veg. Our 4 year old son is like tazmanian devil so for her to sit was crazy! She also started to loose weight and look sick. Then came diahreah(sp?) she had it for 40 days straight before she was hospitalized and after 10 long days in hospital the test came back positiv for CD. It is a longroad but the changes are incredible once you see them Hope I can help you out.

My daughter is 8 months old and is 6.5kg, she is thriving in every other way but growing, UNTIL going GF. so been told she is a serious celiac. Major changes in the household diet but looking forward to the healthy change. I am just very worried about the small thing that I dont know about, I have been told she already has damage to her intestines so a small amount would not be good. ahhh, im just a little lost.

Hi Maria! Glad to hear that the GF diet started working for your son. How is he doing now? Still on the diet?
