I think my son could possibly have some sort of eating or "absorption" problem. . or something! I have talked with a few people about him & some think it could possibly be celiac. . . I have talked to his drs for YRS about his eating habits, weight, etc & no one has ever DONE any testing. . when he was @ 5. . he even had "failure to thrive" written in his chart! I have 3 other children. . none that are as thin as him or had some of the issues he has had. . I think he also has some sensory issues. . . when he was smaller he gagged on mashed potatoes all the time, but loved them . . . how do i get drs to DO something?? I am VERY concerned about my son's health. . I have been concerned about him since he was a baby!! He has always been "different" in many ways - more tantrums then "usual", (more difficult in general!!). . . and WAY past the age of what I would think he'd be growing out of them . . . among other things

Thanks!!

I just wanted to add that when my daughter was 2, she was failure to thrive also and our Ped practice consisted of 6 doctors. We went to each one, telling them that something wasn't right and the first 5 blew us off. The last one finally said that she truly believed in a mother's intuition and she kept running tests and sending us to specialist until we found the CD diagnosis. There needs to be more Docs like that! She just left the practice or I would have shared her info on the thread about finding a doctor.

I agree! Find a doctor who will run the blood test. Although the symptoms can vary so much between children, your son's are VERY similar to what my daughter's were. Even if it's not CD, sounds like you need a doc who will find out what is going on! Good luck!

Ask (in fact insist) your Doctor does the blood screening test for Celiac! If your current Doctor wont do it - change Doctors!

Good luck!
