I am a 22 year old mum of two little girls,Isabella 17months and Sienna 5months.

My husband is half Malaysian/Chinese and half New Zealand European.I am New Zealand European.

I am hoping to be able to teach our girls to be very proud of both their asian and white heritages, but am not totally sure on how to do that. Also I know my husband got teased at school because his last name is Wong, and am wondering if anyone has suggestions on how I can prepare our girls for the possibility that may happen to them.

Am so happy this community exsists!

Sometimes you can find a local asian society/club/group and you could go from there? Or you can always celebrate holidays in both cultures too!

Mmmm...about the teasing, I'm not sure. I was also teased in school b/c I was asian like things such as being called names like "chink" or how ppl were buying into the asian stereotype. But you can always just try to have a talk with them to help them understand to not let it bug them?
