To anyone that has/had a child that has/had bad thought OCD, has this gone away? My daughter will be 8 soon and is always confessing bad thoughts that she has to me. This includes thoughts about me. It is hard on both of us. I just cannot find any positive stories about this anywhere.

The only thing that has helped my 11 year old is therapy and Prosac (prosac did help the thoughts to be a lot less and less noticable). Meds is a hard decision. I even struggle how long to keep her on it, but it has been a God send. She has been on it 1 year and a half.

Hi
I have exactly the same problem. I have even had her to a psychologist who says its not OCD but when she tells me these thoughts I want to cry.The thoughts don't seem to be affecting her daily life. Is your daughter had any anxiety symptoms. eg headaches stomach ached etc? I am alos looking and praying that these will just go away

For Miss L, ....My son is now 9. Bless it, when he was going through this at its worst it was heartbreaking. He was afraid the pencil lead in his school pencils were going to poison him, afraid he might swallow his tongue to the point he couldn't got to sleep at night, was worried about water getting in his lungs when he drank it and was afraid he would drown. He obsessed about bad things happening to him to the point he was having panic attacks. I'm happy to say that he is starting to get past this! It's such a helpless feeling to watch your little one suffer. He's doing much better in this area. Hope this helps. ( prayers)
