Hi all, I have a 3 and a half month old boy who has been a terrible sleeper since he was born, the nurses in the hospital couldn't understand why this newborn refused to sleep!! He has terrible reflux and throws up all over everything, especially me, all day and night. I had to put him on formula cause he couldn't keep the breastmilk down, he would scream with hunger and feed every 45 min, now he's on formula, novalac AR (i wish we could get enfamil AR pre-made in south africa!!) and the vomiting is no better but he is fuller and happier for a bit longer. I want to start him on solids at 4 months, does anyone have any experiences or advice for me about anything to do with reflux, sleep problems or solids from 4 months? He wakes up all the time at night, I am so so tired.

I tried to start cereal with my son (on Prevacid 8mg/day) at 4 months, but it seemed for some reason to make his reflux worse. Now at 6 months he appears to be outgrowing it some and can finally tolerate solids. I think each baby is different with how their reflux presents, as I've had friends with whom the solids made their reflux better. Do you take him to a pediatric GI?

My son is 5 months and we put him on baby food at 2 months because he holds it down better! He is on Enfamil Ar and he still spits up a lot! They also have him on prevacid but it doesnt seem to work and he was on zantac when he was born and it didnt work! But I'm not a doctor so i cant tell u what u should do but i started feeding my son at least one jar of baby food a day since he was 2 months and it seemed to help some..he doesnt eat as much and sleeps a little bit more!
