Looking for birth mother in Russia

Pat - posted on 06/21/2009 ( 2 moms have responded )

My twin boys, adopted from Moscow at age 3, want to visit Russia someday and have asked about looking for their birth mother. I am more than supportive of this, and would help them. I also believe it would be fairly easy, as in post soviet Russia people tend to remain in their apartments for life.

On the other hand, I know that adoption acceptance is very different there, than it is here. Or at least it was 15 years ago.

Has anyone addressed this issue in that part of the world?

Sorry this won't help, but if you get any information please let me know. I have a now 3 year old we adopted from Tver, Russia. I would like to be able to give her all the info. I can when she is older. She also has a brother that her birthmother kept and 2 older sisters that were adopted into the U.S.. I have no idea how to get this information for her.
