My daughter loves to snack but doesn't want to eat meals. I have tried to limit her snacks so that she is more hungry at meal time but the doctor tells me to give her 3snacks a day and let her eat whatever she likes. Well i'm not letting my daughter just eat fruit snacks, pretzels and cookies. My daughter is 17months old...idk what to do. I have even limited her liquid intake. and she rarely gets any juice and if so it's at lunch 1/4 cup watered down. Any help or tips is very much appreciated!

I've tried giving her different types of chicken nuggets, she will only eat the ones from McDonald's lol. but I have never made them myself, just the frozen ones. She does like yogurt. I give her YoBaby yogurt or GoGurt. She loves that.

The problem with eating off my plate is, I'm on the HCG Diet right now trying to lose a lot of of weight I have gained over the years....so she could eat the same stuff as me I guess but I ate very strict stuff.

If she only likes chicken nuggets have you try to make your own? I have done this and its just diced up chicken breat and rolling them in bread crumbs with whatever seasoning you want to add( I've done parm cheese & herbs) and bake them in the oven the same way at least that way you know she is having what you make. Still try her on other meat even if its from your plate, sometimes I get my daughter to eat better simple by giving her 'my meal' which is really hers on my plate lol!!! Does she like yogurt or custard?

Ashley I so hear you about how hard it is to get them to eat!!!! My daughter is two next month and we have had a battle with eating since she was six months. Like your girl she isn't a huge eater and she would rather eat smaller amounts more often then a big meal so I've learned to adjust what I give her. I make what she puts in her mouth count. Our day is set out like this( give or take)
Breakfast- one wheatbix with milk, slice of wholegrain toast with peanut butter.
Snack-yogurt, cheese or fruit
Lunch- vegimite sandwhich on wholegrain bread or ham cut into strips( ham snakes) with cucumber and cheese bits
Snack- rice snacks, fruit bar, fruit
Dinner- steamed veggies and some kind of meat She gets the veggies first then the meat not all together
Snack- popcorn, fruit, sometimes icecream
My daughter doesn't get alot of options for drinks its water or milk with her snacks not main meals. I give her juice every once and a while. I found that giving her foods that I knew were the best option at least let my mind rest a little, yes she doesnt eat huge amounts but she does eat good. She gets the two fruits, five veg a day. If we go to parties and stuff I do let her have treats but she would happily fill up on crackers so I dont give them to her as a snack. Even try if she doesnt want to sit for her dinner give her veggies as her snack before. Hope this helps a little I know how hard it can be good luck.
