Kaylee started to grasp toys between 41/2 to 5 months. I think your little one is fine. Just give her some time. Kaylee was born grasping her umbilical cord. She pulled the vent out about 8hrs after birth and she was 26 weeks. She has always had an obsession with tubs, cords, lines of any kind. Now at 23 months she is always pulling on strings and anything like that.

Do you mean 3 1/2 weeks or months?

My son was born at 36 weeks. I think he was about 4-4 1/2 months when he started grasping things. My twin preemies were born at 34 weeks. They are now 3 1/2 months old and they don't grasp toys yet either, but I'm not worried. Every child learns at his/her own pace and preemies take longer to do things. My babies are actually only 2 months old if you go by their adjusted age, not actual age.
