My daughter is 6 months and for the past 3 months or so she has been soo constipated. It takes me giving her Karo syrup, fruits and juice for her to go poo. Does anyone have any suggestions other than that?

Hi, My daughter was 2 months premature and was very constipated as an infant. I had to use the method of the q-tip every other day if she hadn't gone until I took her to the doctor for it. Her pediatrician put her on Muralax. She took 1/4 of a capful once a day. It helped her out tremendously! As she began eating more food and table food she gradually was weaned off of it. You can buy it over the counter also and is really gentle. Hope it helps!!

We had the some constipation problems with my DD (her was due to the imaturaty of the nervous system in that area). Our doctor told us to use a q-tip with visilean on it and stimulate the anus. It felt wrong for a while but it helped her out alot. When she turned 6 months we started to give her veggies like squash and sweet potatos and that started to make it better but we ended up haveing to take her off of Iorn (don't do this without Dr's supervison) and within weeks she was better. We have to do a animec test about ever 3 months now to make sure that her iron levels don't drop. I am not sure if you DD is on iorn drops but that will cause costipation to get worse. I would talk to your DD's Peds for option that are out there,
