When i was pregnant with my first born, he came early at 32 weeks. now that im pregnant with my second son, im afraid he's going to come early even though he's a little bigger than his big brother. people have told me if your first born was born early, your second one is most likely gonna come early too. is that true or could he actually come full term? Yes, i was born premature and so was my finace'.

my first child was born early and my next pregnancy was considered high risk and by the time i was at 5 months along with her my doctor had me in the office 2 times a week every week for non stress test and ultrasounds. They took precautions and my little girl was actually born at full term but better to be safe and take the precuations because you never really know

thats good. i should ask my doctor at my next appointment about getting a stress test done cause he hasn't reccommended it and i think i should get one done.

Also, another question for advice for all you mom's if you could help. my doctor said he only can deliver at the hospital in my town. i already my first born at the hospital in my town and wasn't comfortable at all (long story). i was hoping to go to a different hospital with this one but i dont know if i still should go to another hospital without my doctor. i know its too late to switch doctors. i dont know what to do...

Oh i see, well i just saw my gyn a few days ago and instead of seeing him every 4 weeks, im gonna be starting to see him every 3 weeks. so yeah i know i'm gonna be watched closely this time..i do know im supposed to go on early bed rest too but my gyn hasn't told me when that'll start yet.

Not necessarily. Every pregnancy is different, you are probably more than likely classified as high risk and will need to be watched more closely this time around.

my first son was born 11 weeks early weighing 835 gms, but my second was right on time weighing 3.35 kg so there is a chance of a normal full term pregnancy

My first came two weeks early, my second five weeks early, my third eight weeks early but my fourth.........only six weeks early. I thought there was a disastrous pattern but no, I was really careful, finished work early, limited stress and I went longer than I though I would. Talk to your doctor about how you are feeling and try to relax.

after i had my son early they told me that i would be high risk if i got pregnant again and theyd most likely put me on bed rest. which made me second guess ever having more kids. and when i told me doctor that they told me that chances are they don't know why i went into labor and it may not happen again. preterm babies are common and it's not common for it to happen 2 is what my doctor told me. i didn't rupture just started dialating. but they said many things could put you into preterm labor. i also asked them since my greatgrandpa and my uncle were preterm if it could just be something that i have to live with having preterm babies. they said no. low birth weight can be determined that way but not preterm. it's just be chance. and maybe there is something that causes you to go into preterm labor but they wont check into it more until after you have this baby and it is preterm. hope it helped. thats what my doctor told me.

i have talked to my doctor, all he said was that he'd watch me closely and have me on early bed rest which hasn't happened yet. i am considered to be high risk. all i know that my first was early cause i had a ruptured water break. i can't talk to my doctor about my medical history cause i don't know any of it, i was adopted.

Like Selena stated, prematurity can happen for a variety of reasons. A lot depends on what caused the prematurity in your last pregnancy.

Talk to you OB about your medical history and what you can do to carry this baby to full term.

Well there is a chance of a baby coming early especially if you have had a preterm pregnancy. It would depend on 'why' your baby was early. Have you talked to you doctor? Are you considered high risk? Why was your first early?
