Our daughter Wynn Yvonne was born @ 29wks and weighed 2lbs 8oz. She never had any health problems. She is now just over 10 mo.old. She shows no signs or intrest in crawling yet. I know preemies have their own timeline for doing things but Im wondering ( for those of you with older preemies) when did your little ones start to crawl? and how early were they born?

hon, stop worrying. kids move at their own rate LITERALLY. when she is ready she will take off, either crawling or just skip that part and get up and run! Hang in there. My daughter was 9 1/2 wks early, she did not walk or crawl until she was well over a yr. the drs told me that she never would. i started doing exercises with her muscles, and water exercises as well and when she was ready, she walked. She has never looked back. She did not talk until she was 4, now at the age of 21 and expecting her first child, we cant shut her up. lol give her time, and never believe that a preemie will not catch up or even take off, because they will.

My son was only 4 wks and 5 days early, he was a late crawling, walkin and talkin, BUT ALL PREMMIE BABIES CATCH UP BY THE TIME THEY ARE 3, My son was doing the right things by 3 (JUST) and is at school, can write his name, knows his numbers, colours, sounds, can recognise the alphabet and has more confidence than a bag of confidence!!!!!!! He is doin fab and will b 5 in June.... Just dont worry when other Mum's say My son/daughter blah blah was walkin by now... He/she could do his times table by the time he/she was 18mths!!!!!!
They are all different but also all unique and we wouldnt do without them.

My son was born at 32 weeks.. no health problems - just tons of delays.. we think he may have been tied up in their by cord.. he did not crawl until 15 months and walked at at 26 mo.

I always go by her adjusted age, when she should have been born and go of of a full term babies average timeline...but don't worry about it, my daughter wouldn't sit up FOREVER!!! until she was 11 months simply because she doesn't like it! SHe was crawling before she sat! Point being they will do it when they are ready. Just spend lots of time on the floor enticing her with fun things to crawl towards!

My daughter was born @ 24 weeks and weighed 2lbs 5ozs and at a year is walking and talking. It helped her that I have older children that constantly played with her. Let her be, when she is ready she will move.
