Asking for Feedback

Having a child with SPD is challenging on so many fronts, but trying to complete a Master's Thesis with two small kids and one with SPD can sometimes feel like a suicide mission. Therefore, I have decided to combine the two - hopefully I will be able to provide further justification for schools to recognize and provide OT treatment for this disorder at the same time learning more about how I can help my own daughter.
So, my Thesis is designing a STUDY to look at the effectiveness of OT treatments in the classroom setting. My goal is to provide objective and statistical credibility to what we as moms and OT's already know works.
So, I am asking for your feedback...
1. Have you have had any experiences with therapies that have worked with your child in the classroom environment?
2. What has been the response by your child's teachers/administration to the OT classroom therapies/interventions?
3. Are you aware of any research or individuals who are interested in this topic.
I would really appreciate your responses, as they will provide integral first hand, personal accounts to support the academic literature.
Thanks Again

1) no

2) they act as though I made up SPD to remove responcibility from my son for his behaviors

3) the book The out of Sync Child is great, it explains the disorder and has lots of treatment ideas.

Thanks so much Jennifer. I really want to help with the SPD cause and I really want to see this disorder recognized in the DSM. I just hope I can pull off my thesis (especially the extensive research) by May! :)

I think that is a wonderful thesis... my son is not in school yet, so I can't help you on #1 and #2, but I will try to get the name of my sister's ST/OT at her school. She was so helpful in my nephew's case and is always researching herself... I'll see what I can find..
