Ask your doc about a getting a referral to a feeding clinic. They specialize in helping kids just like yours learn how to eat and tolerate textures. Insurance should cover it, since it is affecting him physically. I hope that helps.

Other feeding therapies from the usual OT help. Any other feeding therapies or remedies?

We are doing that already, he gets formula through the doctors prescribing it to him. He' been on it since he got the g-button in 2001. We haver been on formula all his life. We tried it through tasting it and then we've tried just putting it in the tube. He's just not getting any meat on his bones. Have you heard of any feeding therapies?

My son's diet has always been supplemented with Pediasure.....I know that your Pediatrician should be able to prescribe a high calorie drink as well, but if they are dragging their feet and wanting to wait and see you could do this on your own, that's what we did.  I couldn't bear to wait and see how low his weight would get.  We get the vanilla and flavor it with strawbery syrup, but if your son has a G-tube or NG tube he won't taste it so you don't have to worry about that.
