Grossed out by babyfood

Here's one to throw at our occupational therapist later today:

We've just begun to introduce babyfood to our nearly-6 month old. We've fed her twice and both times, our son (21 mos, SPD) has vomited at the sight of it. THIS should make life interesting. If I can't feed her when he's around, it's going to be difficult!!!

Has anyone else had this challenge? If so, any recommendations?

All I can say is be patient.  My son is almost five and he can only eat less than 20 foods also.  We have been in therapy for 2 1/2 years.  every where we go is a challenge with foods, and smells.  Texture is very difficult.  A good book with at home therapy tricks is Just take a bite by Lori Ernsperger PhD.   Good luck to you

YES!!!! My son Logan was the SAME way, with his own food! It took FOREVER to get him on solid foods. He had acid reflux and gastritus (sp?) as well. through his SPD diagnoses we realized he has lack of sensory perception in his mouth that makes textures unbearable and he doesn't feel the food in the back of his mouth and would choke. He still gags on drinks at 3. Now we are finding he FREAKS OUT at the sight and smell of food. He is a RESTRICTIVE eater, the worst category. He eats less than 20 foods. But he really reacts to foods!
