James's OT wants to try integrated listening therapy on him. Has anyone done this? If so did it help or did you see a difference in your child? Any information would be appreciated....

My daughter does 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening...We have had so much success with it that we bought it...the headphones and a variety of CD's. Vitallinks carries a child-friendly compilation...They all have titals like Grape Jamz, Strawberry Jamz, etc. We also have Mozart for Modulation and a couple of the EASE CD's.
I can tell by looking at my daughter whether she is doing her listening program or not. With it, she brushes her hair, teeth...wears clean clothes and doesn't complain about her underwear. I don't quite understand how it works, but for us, it does.
You may have to try different CD's. Bach makes my daughter itch all over. Weird, huh? Our OT says that if there is anything that the child doesn't like, don't force it...

Addison's OT is recommending this too. Addison is 3.5 and has strong tactical defenses. We tried a bit today during her session and Addison flipped out. I listened to the music and it was so low. Lower than normal conversation. Almost a whisper. Addison screamed and cried for over 5 minutes while we held her with the headphones on. I felt like we were torturing her. I cried and she cried. I know she must be challenged, but it is so hard.
I have read much on it and think it could be beneficial. The website that her OT gave me for information is www.vitallinks.net.
Best of luck.
