Hello, I am a mom of 3 and our daughter who is 5 has some severe sensory processing issues. She is in kindergarten and this school year has kicked her disorder into high gear. We have started with an OT but I feel like I'm in a constant war. Any support will be so greatly appreciated.

Kindergarten is a big step. The days are long (no rest time, I'm guessing) and expectations are higher than ever. I would like to recommend the following product for use at home and, if permitted, at school to help your daughter. The weighted stuffed animal is a much more appealing alternative to lap pads used by OTs, and the book playfully lets kids know that their sensory challenges aren't at all uncommon. Wishing you the best!

Hello I am new to the site and I totally understand your frustration. I have a four year old son that has sensory processing disorder and he will begin OT very soon. One question I have for you is did you put your daughter in a pre K program prior to Kindergarten? My son won't start Kindergarten until next fall and I am thinking a part time Pre K program would be good for him so I was curious if your daughter went to pre k

I am in the same boat. I also have a 5 year old daughter with SPD and lately every morning is a battle. The seamless socks have to be put on a certain way and then she completely loses it when the leggings go on. Most mornings she rolls around on the floor (naked) screaming that her clothes give her 1000 itches. It's so frustrating and I feel completely lost. We just moved, which made it all worse. We are about to start OT. I'm praying it helps. I feel your pain! Its such a hard thing to go through. It's like they are live grenades!!
