My son is an ex preemie who was born at 29 weeks and was 1 pound and 10 ounces. He has been seeing Occupational/Speech/Feeding therapists since his first year of life. He is three years old now and has several developmental delays. His therapists think he has Sensory Processing Disorder. I have done lots of research on this and know it can mimic autism. Our pediatrician has recommended that we see a develpmental pediatrician. We live in the Dallas area and, honestly, I haven't heard or read great things about the group we have been referred to. Soooo....I am looking for ideas on the best type of professional to see to give an official diagnosis. And names of these specific professionals. We are ready to get some answers! I feel like my son is falling further and further behind, although he is making progress with his therapies. Please help!!

I count my blessings every day and am so grateful he is alive! I just don't know anyone else that has dealt with anything like this and need some guidance. Would like to know the kind of professionals that others have used. Thanks for the website!

It's is a great website. Use the check list. My son was 27 weeks early too and weighted 3 lbs 12 oz. do your home work and don't stress too much. He kid doesn't have cancer so put it into perspective. Read up there are lots of good books and find out what works. Each child is different
