I know raising teens can be difficult, my third is now 19. So glad that phase is passing. Here is an article that might provide some helpful tips for parenting teens:http://bit.ly/1TVfGQF

Glad to see it. Keeping up with your child on social media may prove to be time consuming, but it's worth it, as you'll be able to help her grow up to be a great girl.

The truth is, kids are always going to lie. A great way to prevent most of it is to just punish her for lying more then if she tells the truth. My mother lets things slide when I tell her the truth, and it honestly makes for a much closer bond with little to no lies. Parent's should never play the child's friend, but it wouldn't hurt to be kind to them and show you understand. Something I recommend to get in touch with her life is to get an app on your phone called "Snapchat" and have your daughter add you to her friends list. Checking her story can provide a lot about what she normally keeps from you, and would probably allow her to second guess posting bad things online, killing two birds with one stone! ( Another reason I Suggested this is that it's a tradition for kids to post their grades on Snapchat and joke about how bad they are, so you could see them.. )
