18 year old son in jail

My 18 year old son is in jail for loitering and running from the police. I am actually happy he is in jail because he has been doing drugs, drinking and whatever else he can do for a long time. He called me and I accepted his collect call and he begged me to get him out. I told him he was going to sit until his court date (which is 3 months away) and he said the judge told him he could join the military and get his charges dropped. I have never heard of this... have any of you heard about this so called opportunity?

Yep, it's an attempt to get them to pull their head out of their butt before they get so into the system that they can't straighten out.

Yes actually it is a "reform" opportunity that some judges may or may not offer, however if he gets in any trouble while in the military he will go back to jail to finish his sentence. There are probably more rules and regulations, but I'm not sure what all of them are
