My son has been always fine with me, we have been very close together, he was caring and loving till 3 months ago. Then he started to swear at me blaming me to have ruined his life, often he would block the way , throw on me objects and even try to harm me physically when i came toward him a told him it will not work this way. He is taller than me and my husband which unfortunately does not cooperate with me. I told my son home is a safe place and if he does not keep it so, he will find himself out with the help of the police. Besides, he does not exchange a word with me besides insults and curses. How should I go on?

You don't mention your son's age. There could be several factors here.
1. Bottled up anger from things in his past.
2. Drugs
3. Peer pressure and what he sees other teens his age act with their parents.
4. Hormonal - when changes happen, they sometimes don't understand where all these emotions are coming from and it makes it difficult for him to comprehend.
5. Hidden information coming to light that he found out.
6. A sickness that could instill behavioral issues.

Options - Get a physical done and explain some of the issues. Get counseling for him so that at least he can turn to someone for help. Don't back down with that either. Make him go! Find him a mentor that he really respects and inform them of the situation. They might be able to speak into his life and help him because he is not as close (meaning parental). Talk to the school he goes to. What type of behavior is he showing there. That may give you some clues. I hope this helps.
