Hi I'm lily, on my moms account, I seriously want my belly button peirced but my mom won't let me as u don't live with her, I live with my dad and he says if I want it done I have to wait till I am 21!! And that's just never going to happen, I have said to my dad if he doesn't let me have it done I will do it myself, just like I did my second whole in my ear by myself, I just don't know how to convince him to let me get my belly button done, surely you mom's know what it's like to really want something, and for me well I have been waiting for this for ages, I lost a load of weight and toned up so I can have it done, now I just need my dad to let me, so does anyone have any ideas on how to convince me dad??? I would be truly thankful,

Thanks for reading this x

It's better to just wait. I wanted mine pierced from the age of like 12 until now. I had to wait until I was at least 18. I went to get it pierced and the piercer said mine can't be pierced. So I think it's best you wait, you don't want a ruined belly button if you don't pierce it right. Plus if you do it yourself it will most likely get infected.

She never stated how old she was. She could be of age, it does say that her father insists that she be 21. Calling her an "entitled little bitch" is a bit much, even if she is entitled she is only asking for some honest advice regarding an issue she wants to resolve. Unnecessary name-calling is rather immature.

How old are you? If you are 18 then I don't see an issue, but out of respect for your parents I would consider refraining. It is merely polite! Congratulations on losing the weight, by the way. If you - in fact - are underage then wait until at least 18, that is the legal age to make these decisions. Getting it done by yourself as a spiteful act is not a good idea, and I advise against it. Although Shawnn did display some rather uncalled-for name calling, she was correct that that sounds a little petty.

If you are very serious about getting this done and your parents don't consent then show them that you are responsible! Make sure they know that this is something that you want and have thought over thoroughly. If they do not relent then just wait, you never know if your tastes will change, wait the couple of years! It won't kill you,

Guess what, honey, there's a reason that laws state that you have to be 18 to be pierced, or have a parent's consent.

Wait until you're an adult. If you still want to be pierced, do it then. You're coming across as a spoilt rotten little brat. You aren't mature enough to make these decisions, based on your petty little "if you don't let me, I'll do it myself". Well, chickie, happy infection!

Your parents need to restrict you to your home, take your privileges, and make you wait to get them back until you appreciate what you have and stop being an entitled little bitch.
