Crying and Thoughts

I am new to the Circle of Moms and boy am I happy you came up in my search engine. I am a single mom of three kids, one of them is my 11 year old, Taylor. I have OCD and intrusive thoughts, please look it up if you don't know. Taylor, she is an amazing kid who is so very sensitive. About a month ago, she got a chain letter from a girl that says if you don't send this to 20 people your mom is going to die. Well, she freaked out which sent her in to this out of control thought and crying spiral. When she is with her dad she cried uncontrollably and gets thoughts that she will not see me again. I try to help her over face time and it just doesn't seem to calm her. Since I have anxiety, after a week of this I took her in to see a therapist, she is now in a class and has a calming app. I needs some tips on how to help her in the moment. I am terrified for her and hoping that these thoughts she is having are not a result of my OCD. I have to tell you I am having major anxiety over this, I have an uneasy feeling because I don't know if what I am offering is helping her. Any Advice?

Hi, Jacqui. It’s obvious that Taylor loves you very much, and you definitely sound like a very caring mother. I am so sorry to hear about your anxiety. Have you considered counseling along with your daughter? May be it can help you! Also, you might find this book useful - The Anxiety Cure by Dr. Archibald D. Hart. It must be available through any of the online stores. I will certainly be praying for you and your daughter. May God give you wisdom, guidance, and also comfort you in the days ahead. Hugs!
