I have a 14 year old step daughter, she has gotten in trouble for many years for stealing petty things, acting older than she is and talking to random guys off the internet and lying consistanly. This weekend she was at a friends house and they decided to sneak out at mid night and go drank and smoke hooka at a guys house, and on top of it she took a pill from the boys and doesn't know what it is nor did she ask. She also lied and met a boy that she met off the internet that she didn't know and lied that her friends mom was going to take her. I'am a very strict parent and her dad isn't and just now is seeing that things have gotten out of control. what would be a good punishment for this situation.

First, you, as a step, shouldn't set discipline. Her father should.

That being said, daddy needs to get his head out of the sand, and enforce punishment, starting with no electronics, no internet, no phone.

Since she can't be honest, I would definitely take away her source of meeting men: the internet. She is showing questionable and dangerous behavior by drinking and taking unknown pills, meeting men, sneaking out of the house. She might find something really bad happening to herself if this behavior continues (raped, overdosing). Cut her off from the friends she is learning this from, as well as the internet. She is way too young and there are way too many men out there who like little girls. Since she wont protect herself, mama has to.
