My 14 year old step daughter came and stayed with us for about a week and then went to her moms house. Today I looked for my wallet in my sons diaper bag where it always is and its gone, she stole my gold ring while she was here also which is why I think she has it. Everything I need is in that wallet! I know for a fact it was in the diaper bag because I always put it there so that I don't lose it. What am I supposed to do?

no thank god just my photo id and a couple credit cards that i immediatly put on lockdown. the most shes gonna get is some tobacco products. its just its a lv wallet and i dont very often have the money to buy myself nice designer things with all of our kids. ive tore this house appart looking for it called the school called her mom no one can find it so she must be keeping it on her person or something. no one else has been here and we lock the door when we leave so theres really no other explaination. just seems odd that she stole my ring and 3 days later my wallet went missing ya know?

First of all, MAKE SURE that it is absolutely no where else in the house, car, etc. Just because you always put it in the diaper bag doesn't mean you didn't misplace it elsewhere in the house. It happens.

Once you have been through your house, car, etc at least 3 times (and had husband confirm that it cannot be found), then call up sd, let her know that it's missing, and that you've got tracers out on any unauthorized activity. Call your cc companies, cancel cards, call your bank, follow the steps that you would take in the event your wallet was lost or stolen.

Do not accuse. That will only bring up more trouble later. If she IS found in possession of it, then you discuss with your husband the appropriate steps to take at that point.
