Last week, my son was caught playing his video games after his allowed time. (video games are done at 8pm...he was caught at 11pm). We grounded him from all electronics for 1 week. He was ungrounded this past Wed. Well, last night he was caught AGAIN at 11:30pm. I am completely lost on what to do. My husband thinks we should get rid of all video games FOR GOOD! I'm not sure i agree with that. Any suggestions????
(I should also add: my son does have ADHD and is currently on medication for that...so is thought process is slightly delayed, for lack of better words.)

Maybe he needs help remembering. Try disabling the device. (Removing a cord, taking the controller) at night. Sometimes he just doesn't think. Just acts.

Hi! I think it is important to be consistent. He needs to know his boundaries and the consequences for breaking them. The video games might be an outlet for him since he has ADHD, but he still has to learn how to use that outlet within boundaries. I would encourage you and your husband to talk it out and come up with a set punishment that you both agree on. Make sure your son is made aware of the consequences. Praying for you!

I don't think I would take it away permanently, but I would take it away until he earned my trust back. Obviously the first grounding did not teach him the lesson.
