Definitely, then, Carrie, get into some family counseling. Dad needs to be on board, and needs to see how his floating along whilst you play disciplinarian and enforcer is actually detrimental towards your family goals.

Good luck, my dear! A healthy sense of humour does help, I'll tell ya!

Thank you Shawnn, I appreciate your reply and it makes a lot of sense. I agree that that consistency and consequences are extr important. Unfortunately, my son's Dad just wants to be his son's "buddy" and, doesn't help me enforce rules, changes then on me. Its u do it your way ,,, i'll do it my way. My son is very confused and angry about this and negatively acts out. Short of family or (couples/ co-parenting therapy) im desperate to get my partner on the same page as me and act as a parental unit. Wish i had the positivity and sense of humor and patience you seem to have.. i apologize if this is too heavy an issue... never joined an on-line group before... not quite sure how it works yet.

Batten down the hatches, and be ready with consistency and consequences.

Its a bumpy ride, but kinda like a roller coaster, ya know? Fun once it's over...LOL

Teens are actually pretty easy, as long as you keep communications open, and remember that its' too much paperwork to do anything but love them...
