Hi all :)
New to the group !!
What is the best way that you have found to communicate with your teenager ? My daughter is 13, I know she is growing up and her body is changing . She has more social activities in school and such . We live at a distance , different states . What would be a great way to start a conversation with her ? I am at a loss as what to talk about with her at times .

Hello Again,

The other thing that we do is discuss a TV show. My daughter lives at school now and "our" show is Glee. We can't watch it together anymore, so we both watch and sometime during the we we talk about it. It really covers a lot of teen and life topics and issues and lends itself to some great conversations. I wish you the best.

Hi,
Am I understanding correctly that you do not live in the same state? I have a 14 year old daughter and we have very matter of fact conversations about everything, yes everything. Even though she says MOMUH!(only like a daughter can) I try to inject a little humor also. I know she hears me even though sometimes she pretends not to. She is living at high school about an hour away and we talk on the phone and text. Good Luck!
