Homeschool Versus Public School for Teenagers with ADHD

Hello, I have a 17 year old son, with ADHD. He had been on ADHD medicines since he was in first grade, until last summer. We stopped the medication because he did not like the way some of it makes him feel. Due to problems with school and peers, he was so unhappy we reluctantly agreed to try homeschooling. I work full-time and my husband is disabled so he is there everyday to supervise, but I do all of the lesson plans. It is becoming more and more difficult to get him to do the work. I am planning to start him back on Intuniv tomorrow. I am debating whether to just put him back in public school after Christmas, but I don't want him to be behind. I really want homeschool to work out, and he only has this year and next! He is threatening to quit school next year and I really don't want that to happen. Help!! Any advice from someone who has gone through similar situations?
