You may even consider a private investigator. I would get the police involved. was there an argument or did she just up and leave? I ask because I have a daughter the same age and have always had that fear. my heart goes out to you.

After you have exhausted all your efforts in finding her I would contact local police. If you at some point know where she is either try and get her or have the police get her, if it is a jurisdiction difference make sure you have your case #. If you do know where she is and you have your case # then that family or person can be charged with Harboring a Runaway; most people don't want to get that involved and will turn her over to you. Chances are she is lying about her circumstances at home to make other feel sorry for her.
Take notes on the date she left etc...in case you need to file a At Risk Youth petition if your local courts offer that. That way if in the need arises you can take that route. Contact local juvenile court in person or online to see what kind of things you can actually do.
Can you contact your cell carrier to get information? Such as #'s she is calling or #'s coming into her phone. (I put a GPS app on my 17 yr old son's phone). Much of the specifics (i.e. Cell tower locater info) can only be done via law enforcement or sometimes even via search warrant -- not easy and usually not done unless child is endanger?
Does she have facebook? If so, then maybe you can get some leads there.
I hope this helps you out! Note: I am normally never on this site and may not come back to follow up on your post! Sorry.

First call all her friend's houses and ask if she's there. If not then maybe she's at her fathers (if he doesn't live far away and you're all still in contact I'm not sure on the situation), and if still not then file a missing person report.

Oh my word! This is terrible!!! My 15 year old son keeps threatening to leave and I'm petrified he'll actually do it. I would file a missing persons report with the police. She's only 17 and is still a minor in the eyes of the law, isn't she?
