I was washing my hair every day with Shampoo and conditioner. Then a friends mom told me shampoo dries out your hair and it only needs to be washed once a week with shampoo but conditioned daily.my mom said condition it daily and use shampoo every other day. What's normal for hair washing?

It depends on the person, activity, and even the weather. I do every other day wash and condition. My teen does to. But PMS makes her need an extra wash sometimes. If your scalp is tight or itchy, wash. If your hair is oily, wash. If you were sweating a lot today, wash. If your hair is sticking to your face wierd and not sweeping by, wash. Those are the hints I give my kids.

Everyones hair is different but I do every 2-3 days wash and condition, when I was in highschool though I probably washed and conditioned every day.

As often as it's needed, which will differ for each individual.

If you're a naturally oily person, then once a day may be necessary. I generally have to wash every 3 days. I wash and condition each time. Applying conditioner on the days I don't wash only makes me have to wash sooner, because it's just a layer of guck in my hair.
