My 15 yr old (turned 16 today) is 12 weeks pregnant and has recently been getting a lot of food cravings. Has anyone had a teen who was pregnant and had lots of food cravings? Her most recent craving was a picnic with lots of yogurt in the middle of the night.

OMG, this is me twenty years ago; I was 16 when my oldest arrived,, but 15 when I got pregnant. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HER!!!!!

Every girl should celebrate sweet sixteen in maternity cloths. Just joking. I was further along and really showing on my sixteenth. Is your daughter showing yet? Probably not as she is due around Labor Day. I take it that everybody at school knows about her condition. That was difficult for me to adjust to.

Before your daughter balloons into a blimp, she needs to discuss weight gain with the nurse at her OBgyn. If I recall correctly from when my three were bumps, acceptable weight gain is 25 extra pounds from start to delivery, with most towards the end. .Girls who aren't really careful.gain 50, 60, 75, or more pounds, which is a real bitch to get back off. Having done it three times, twice as a teen, I kept getting on the scale and had to control my cravings, which was allot like being on a diet as i had to watch what I ate and keep a journal of the calorie count.

Thinking about you an your friend Kathy, I think you are good and great moms, like my mother. Your daughters and I got real lucky that we had mothers who think a fertilized egg is more than tissue to dispose of. My parents did this for me twice as a teen. With a chuckle I add this,, you and Kathy may want to take steps with powerful birth control to make sure it doesn't happen again to soon.

Something I posted on Kathy's "grandmother" thread, which i would repeat here, is something my Daddy took me aside and explained to me and that was not to burden the baby's father with excessive child support or use our child as a weapon. Golden advice from the old man!!!! That does not mean that the guy gets away without penalty. I found, with my parents help and the help of the father's parents that letting the guy go off to collage, get his education, find a wife, paid BIG dividends from the guy and his future wife. A smaller percentage from a larger paycheck is better than a larger percentage of a hamburger flipper's paycheck. .

Something else, my first two guys and I were just having fun and did not have what it takes for a long term relationship. I have no problem with the effort to glue things together with a quick wedding, but everybody should understand from the start that it is very problematic and has a high likelyhood of not lasting..If it ends, you want to make sure that it does as little damage to the baby. This ain't easy, but i have seen a few friends who pulled it off. i have also known a few idiots that the glue worked on.
. .
Returning to your daughters cravings, take her aside and explain that baby fat goes on easy, but is difficult to get off.

Thanks for the time. Since me and his mom became friends she said she is going to make sure he takes his place in her life. When I was 20 I had her and my neighbor said me and him won't last. Huh. Well we proved her wrong. 4 or 5 days after my daughter was born he proposed to me and when we visited my old house aka my parent's home we stopped by to show her the baby and tell her we were married. I don't like revenge by growing up with boys who would treat us girls like we were little specks made our competitive side come out. Lol. So we made a bet wit her if we weren't still married in 12 years we owe her $100 but if we are then she owes us $100. Obviously we won because we are married today and love each other very much.

I stole the term "idiots" that I used in a previous post below from Judge Judy when she had two teen parents in her court who were there for some unrelated issue. She started with, "So you two idiots made a baby together; Is that correct? . . . . ." She's got my number pegged. I ain't goin' anywhere near her court. LOL

So they think they may stay together FOREVER. Why not? Seriously, a few do and why should these "two idiots" not be among that group? I say GO FOR IT KIDS!!!!

(Again, I would suggest that you make sure they don't have another for a few years with the implant, depo, or IUD birth control as they will have a hard enough time of it with this one. As you and I know, babies are not like puppy dogs that you can leave in a box by the refrigerator while you go off to do other things. I'd include the boy in these duties as this is his child also!!!! The more you include him the less likely it will be that he will turn his back on his child.

My Daddy always has a way of putting things in perspective--proper perspective. When I was pregnant a second time, a rather shitty lady laid into me about how I should have abortions like her daughter did. A few minutes later my dad calmly said, "She likes her grandchildren dead, your mother and I like ours alive and we thank you for keeping them that way."

Linda Stevenson is a deranged person that reminds me of this shitty lady. My advice is to skip over reading her posts as they have no value.

Thanks for the advice Kimberly! I will talk to her about cravings. Her entire school knows she is pregnant (some treat her rotten but mostly all of them treat her normal) and she doesn't care. She says she didn't want to be a mother this early but she got used to it and thinks it is a blessing. She is 12 weeks almost 13 and has a mini bump but it is supposed to get big. She and the guys do not think they will stay together forever but he says until she gets married he will support the baby married or not. Thank you for your time Kimberly! I am sure I will be messaging you soon and asking questions about teen pregnancy :-)
