I have an 8 month old baby, he cries a lot and sometimes I ain't as patient as I should be. Any tips on how to be more patient?

I feel for you...babies are difficult, and you are so young yourself! My daughter never made a peep unless she needed something, then my son came along and cried all the time for the first two years of his life. YES, ABSOLUTELY, it can rattle you to the bone, and I was 36, married, and financially secure when my son was born. What I know is, babies NEED to cry..it is their only means of communication at this age, and I've also read it relieves their stress. Now, if it is shrieking, loud..he could be in pain..gas, diaper too tight.. So always check him to see he's ok. If he is fed, clean, warm and safe, and cries when you put him to bed, sometimes you have to do the hard thing and let him cry for a bit...maybe 15 mins. It's hard, but he is fine and you NEED to disconnect so you can recharge yourself. If you are anxious and exhausted, babies feel it and it makes them upset too. If you have your Mom, or a reliable trustworthy friend, leave your baby for just one hour, so sit somewhere quiet and have a cup of tea and relax. He won't cry forever..it just seems like it will never end! Hang in there...
