Would he consider talking to the school counsellor? I suspect it is the dad issue he is angry about.

Will he talk about it with you at all when he is calm? My son doesn't have anger issues, or at least, he has very good control of his anger, but I know that when he and I are in a good place, we are more able to openly communicate about the negative things that have happened, and discuss how we may be able to better handle it.

Personally, I think he possibly needs to learn some anger management, maybe through counselling, but if he won't go, it's awfully hard to force it. He needs to acknowledge it is an issue.

I think I would be asking if there is something going on. Is this a recent thing? Does he have friends? Does he spend time with them? Where is dad - is he in the picture? Is there the possibility he is experiencing identity issues? bullying? Problems at school? Has anything changed lately? Generally this level of anger would indicate an underlying issue.
