i went 7 months not knowing if was the father or not. I was told I wasnt til last month of pregnancy i was not father. 3 weeks go by with no dna test ordered or talked about. So i ordered one did test following directions and sent away.12 days later i find out i,m the father and her abusive ex will not give us the privacy needed for a colicy baby. The fathers name was left blank on certificate. I,m in the state of Maryland, What do i need to do to get myself, the biological fathers name on birth certificate? The baby girl is only 7 weeks old, aand her X has turned her against me(mother) I just want to pay support and have a relationship with her, The last 7 weeks i have seen her on daily bases til last 5 days havent seeen at all. Hard to believe you can miss something so quick. the other guy has child in texas that he,s back 20k in support, but wants to bud in try to fill my shoes, this is my first child and have to experience this, is not the way its supposed to be! Anyone that knows Maryland laws of this nature, could use some advice, PLEASE

If he is requesting one, and wants to support the child, and be a parent, then, yes, and I don't see why you wouldn't want that support.

Seriously? Unless the guy is a deviant, or an abuser, why wouldn't you want the support?

unless he is pushing for one no you do not need to have one done but if you want a court to order child support you would have to prove paternity.
