Why would you try to stop him? That's like trying to stop him breathing! Everybody (male and female) does it; it's perfectly normal in spite of what the hypocrites in the church say. Try telling him it's fine, but he needs to respect others and keep it to himself. Seems like you are lucky to have a perfectly normal 13 year old.

It's normal and you can't. As long as he does it in the privacy of his room, there's no reason to start a fight you can't win

Like the others have said, you don't stop him, it's normal.
Make sure he knows to only do it behind closed doors and clean up after himself.

I agree with Annette.
Masturbation is too good to give up, he'll just get better at hiding it.
Besides, masturbation is a gift from God, of itself it is good and healthy. However, if he is doing it because he is lusting after some girl, that is disrespecting the girl.
