My 15 year old daughter is one of the best track and field runners in the state BUT,,, she half ass does her school work or not at all, she's caused herself to be ineligible to run her Freshman year now her Sophmore year. I've paid for a tutor but she's not doing the minimal to be successful. We've punished her taken away all electronics, social media, outings, and still no change. Any suggestions?

i dont think she's fearful of failing in track, she was the #1 Freshman, I would think that's a confident booster. I thought the same thing typically athletes are competitive all around. She just has this I don't know complex. It's so frustrating because she won't/ can't explain herself

Also she has been defiant in all other ways as well we took her phone cut if off and deleted all social media accounts she found a way to get a phone from a friend and back on social media. She's motivated by all the wrong things. I have 2 other children complete opposites

Thank you for your feedback!
she had some struggle in math we got her a tutor, the other subjects she just is very unorganized her reasons she says sometimes she forgets the assignment or if she doesn't know how to do it she won't do it, she always waits until the last min to everything. She says she wants to go to Oregon and run and be succesful in journalism, but she seems to live in the clouds and not want to work hard.
