My 16 yr old is almost always in pain. She feels like she will cry during class because she would be in that much pain. I don't feel like the doctor understands her pain. What am I supposed to do?

She has pain almost everywhere. And doesn't feel like eating but she does anyway so her stomach doesn't make any sounds. Please help me so I can help her.

If your child is truly in pain, why would you want to wait? If she's suffering enough that she's not feeling like eating, she's crying because she hurts...???

If you already have a referral, get an appointment set up and see if you can get your child some relief.

ETA...I don't understand why you said in your OP that you "don't think her doctor understands" and "please help me so I can help her". Your doctor understands, because you've been given a referral to a specialist. And, you can help her by making an appointment and acting on that referral!

I don't mean to sound rude, but that's a pretty easy answer. IMO...

have you tried taking her to a good chiropractor. They can do wonders that doctors can not do. Maybe yoga classes could help also. And she probably eats healthy, but non processed foods are really good for pain. Like dark green leafy vegtables, and natural fruits and just anything non processed. and organic. if it's not too expensive. I hope she feels better soon.

Yes why do you want to wait till the winter break is over?

My sister was 4 years old when she got diagnosed with arthritis my mam had to practically camp out at the hospital and Make herself be heard. If she's that bad take her into a&e and get some test run.

Waiting is the worst thing you could do. Get a diagnose early to get treatments. It could take months to find out. And why have her wait longer than she needs to.

I know a girl who went through 3 years of pain, even with a diagnoses, because they had to find the right treatment. Get the diagnoses now and then you can concentrate on helping her!!

Ask her to write down every pain. There are many diseases that can cause pain. Ask the doctor to do tests for MS, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, arthritis, leukemia, everything.

In her knees, ankles, fingers, hands, wrists, arms, thighs, where the pelvic bone is, sides, headaches, and the chest. We have been recommended to a pain specialist but I want to wait till winter break is over.

Pursue the subject until you feel that it has been adequately addressed. Perhaps your gp can refer you to a pain specialist to determine the cause.
