Hi, I'm a mom of 3 daughters and my oldest who recently turned 12 thinks she needs counseling. She's been telling me she doesn't feel like she fits into our family, why,I don't know. I ask her tell to tell me how she's feeling and all she can say is she's confused, she doesn't know what she's feeling!!
We don't have a fancy car or fancy house but we're good. She's fed and clothed and surrounded by people who love her, what could possibly be the problem?

If she is asking to speak to a counselor, LET HER. She obviously has something that she needs to work out, and cannot do so with you, so get her with someone who can help her.

It's not that you've done anything 'wrong', it's that your daughter is having some problems with things, and she's asked you to take her to someone who can help her.

DO IT.
