She is in Karate, Sea Cadets, manners classes, and goes to a private school. She hates me and yells and disrespects me all the time. It is so embarrassing. My husband hates when she lies all the time and she is on medication that I think is not working for her at all. She does go to a therapist to speak to. She tells people how it is. Like wow your fat. Lay off the chips. Or something negative all the time. She is not a popular kid in school. Maybe one or two girls that put up with her crap. She is messes and dresses like the hood sometimes. We go to church and now I am thinking of sending her to South America for the summer to rebuild an orphanage. Maybe that will open her eyes. Nothing else will. I wish we still had the nuns in churches that use to take in girls for the summer and straighten them out.

Now, I am on Xanax just to be able to deal with her. Someone Help me.

Unfort sometimes it's just an issue that they have to work through. My daughter is 14 and is adhd/bipolar and has an anxiety disorder. She yells, is rude, destructive and doesn't know when to keep her rude comments to herself. If you truly don't feel her medication is working you can def request a med change. My daughter is on a mood stabilizer, adhd med, and an antipsychotic. It's a long process that can be very rough to go through. We are currently still in the stages of tweeking the meds to the right levels.

I truly understand how you feel, I really do. There are days when I feel like I could just ship her off and be done. Everyone in our house wants me to do just that. I'm not ready to give up yet though. I want to help her. I want her to be able to function and have a real life. Has anyone considered that there may be more to her problems than just ADHD? Mental health is such a broad field and unfort there are so many different problems that are out there. I have two children with mental health issues and it has been a VERY long process. I have mobile therapist, family based programs, psychiatrists and therapists for my kids. It helps so much to have someone to talk to and throw out different ideas and ways to deal with the kids. A good support system makes a big difference for me as a parent.

I wish you the best and I hope that eventually you get a breakthrough with your daughter.
