Need help with internet on mobile phones.

We are constantly told by the experts to keep our family computer in the lounge/kitchen,wherever. So that we can keep an eye on what our children are doing while on line. My 15 year old daughter no longer uses the computer she is constantly on her mobile phone. I take it off her every night at bedtime, but the rest of the time I wouldn't know if she is on line or not. Facebook is free on the mobile so it is what she is mainly on but I don't know enough about it all. Any ideas?

I have the same issue with my daughter 14 about to be 15 yrs. old. I have blocked the internet from her phone but she to still uses facebook mobile. The good thing is anything you would be able to see on her page normally still shows even when using her phone. The facebook app is the same as texting so if you have the internet blocked that is all she can do. If not than you have a little more reason to be woried. I have be toying with the idea of getting rid of the kids cell phones( with much objection by them), but I have noticed an increase in attitude and a decrease in anything productive since my children got cell phones. I do like the added perk of being able to reach them at any time though. So unfortunately it is a decision that only you can make to allow your child to have a phone and what you will or will not allow them to do with it. My kids get upset cause I will not allow the internet and all the "fun stuff" on the phone but when they are 18 and can get their own plan and pay their own bill they can do as they please. Until then I am their mother they will listen or I will shut off the phones!
