Please help with almost 19 yr old daughter

About a week ago my daughter who couldn't seem to get her nose out of her cellphone or off of her computer for 10 minutes to clean up the food and cups from her room got upset with me when I asked her to do so and decided to call me names and throw a fit. In return, I took the power cord to her computer and turned off her cellphone. She decided she couldn't handle being here without having her wonderful amenities any longer so she went to stay with family. A few days later my father who always seems to take her side, tells me he needs to contact her so I need to turn her phone back on. I explain to him that he can contact her by contacting her through this other family member but he just gets upset with me. So I guess my question is, how do I deal with my father who is always butting in when I am trying to raise my daughter? He has always done this since she was a baby!!! Help!!

Your daughter is an adult, and needs to act like one or face consequences. Your father needs to let you parent your own child (he already had his turn). If he wants to get in touch with her, maybe he should pay her phone bill. You need to have nice civil conversations with these people to tell them that your house has rules, and you are going to enforce those rules.
